Farkle Family: Update from Jon & Heather

Hey everyone,

Well i finally have some free time to send out an update. I know that it has been a couple of months since the last one. We have been so busy down here trying to get ready for the holidays and trying to keep Zach well. I hope that i don't make this too long but there have been so many things going on.

I guess i will jump right in and start with Zachary's 5 month stats. At his 5 month health check he weighed in at 19lbs 9oz and was 25.5 in long. He is doing pretty good. He is just having lots of problems with being constantly congested. So he ended up being put on an apnea monitor and a O2 sat monitor while he is sleeping. He has been on them both for a couple of weeks now and the apnea monitor has not went off at all, but the pulse ox monitor (O2 monitor) has gone off about 6 or so times. He will just desat to the low 80s while he is sleeping sometimes. The lowest that he has desated to is 82. So because of all of this we had to go to an ENT doc the other day. But all he did was look at his tonsils and said that they were fine. He is not going to do anything else to him due to his age. But he is now sending us to a Pediatric ENT doc at Emory in Atlanta. So we have to go up there on Jan 7. The ENT down here said that it could be a couple of different things so we will keep you all updated when we find out what is going on. But besides that Zachary is getting big and growing up so fast. He is eating like crazy. That is his favorite pastime. He can sit up by himself for a short amount of time. He is not rolling over yet, but he is trying. The biggest news in Zachary's world is that he got his first tooth a couple of weeks ago. It is on the bottom front. And he likes to bit with it. Zachary has had some firsts since the last update. He has got to go to a couple of festivals and parades down here. Which he usually slept through most of it. He also had his first halloween which he was a doggy. He had his first Thanksgiving which he tried to eat some of our food. And he is getting ready for Christmas. He loves to look at our tree and all of the Christmas lights. He loves to watch Brianna play and tries to play with her sometimes. He is our little chunky monkey and is already wearing 12 month clothes. Other than that he is doing good and growing up.

Brianna is 3 years old now. Her stats from her 3 year check were that she weighed in at 31lbs and was 39.75 in tall. She is very tall but her brother is fastly approaching her weight. She had a Mickey Mouse 3rd birthday party. She had lots of fun and one of her little boy friends came to it. She got everything she wanted and lots more. She was also in the Peanut Beauty Pageant again this year. She did not win but she had lots of fun. She has been very healthy as always. She did get checked out by the ENT doc too, but he said that her tonsils were fine too. We thought that she might need them out, but she doesn’t. Which is good, at least one of the kids can make it to their 5th birthday with no surgeries maybe. But besides birthday and pageants Brianna has been quite busy herself. She had lots of fun when Grandma Nelson got to come down and visit. Sorry for Grandma but she ended up watching them while mommy and daddy worked. But they all had fun. Brianna still talks about it somedays. She loves to tell stories and make stories up. Brianna really got into Halloween this year. This is the first year that she is really getting the hang of everything and was excited to get candy and is now excited about Christmas day. She was Cinderella for Halloween. Everything has to be princess in her life. She is princess crazy. She also got a surprise and got to see the Disney Princess on ice show recently. She loved it. She actually sat still and watched the whole show which was about 2 hours. She is very excited about Christmas too. Everyday since we have put up our tree she has asked us if it is Christmas day so she can open up her gifts. I don’t know what gifts she thinks she getting cause as of now there are non under our tree yet. Brianna also recently went and ate breakfast with Santa. It was a fun filled morning were she got to wear her pjs to the mall and eat cookies and cocoa with Santa. She got to sit with Santa and sing and talk to him. She also got to make some crafts. She had lots of fun. Other than that she is growing up and getting her own little personality. She is so bossy. She thinks she can tell Zach what to do.

Anyways Jon and I are doing good. Same old same old with Jon. I don’t know if you all know or not but I finally got a new job. I have been working for about 2 months now. I work for an organization that is non for profit. They have 8 different clinics and I am a float person that can go to them all. I have only been working at one so far. I like the clinic that I am at and the manager there is great. I am one of the Pediatric nurses for the company. I love the job and the people are great. They have even been working with me for all of the times I have had to take off for Zachary issues. They are not giving me any time off for Christmas this year though. That is the only down fall of being the new person. But I really do like it there.

Well I guess I will end here cause I know that it is quite long, sorry. I am attaching some pics. Sorry that there are so many but I had a hard time deciding which ones to cut.
